In an appendix to his book Averting 'The Final Failure': John F. Kennedy and the Secret Cuban Missile Crisis Meetings (Stanford: Stanford University Press, 2003), Dr. Sheldon Stern disputed some sections of the Miller Center's published transcripts from The Presidential Recordings: John F. Kennedy: The Great Crises (New York: W.W. Norton, 2001). As part of the program's ongoing effort to provide transcripts produced through rigorous and transparent processes, PRP scholars carefully reviewed each of Dr. Stern's suggestions.
